ABOUT

Welcome! I’m Steven Rader, a musician based in Los Angeles, CA.

As an orchestrator, I’ve worked on dozens of feature films (Wicked, Moana 2, Superman), hundreds of television episodes (Bridgerton, Outlander, Foundation), and several AAA video game titles (God of War: Ragnarök, Spider-Man 2), collaborating with composers such as John Powell, Bear McCreary, Pinar Toprak, Christopher Willis, Kris Bowers, and Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL).

As a composer and arranger, I’ve contributed to the games Fozzy Football and Retronomicon as well as show choir performances for live concert. My writing emphasizes natural, idiomatic lines for all musicians, even when the piece is only ever performed “in the box”.

I’m an alum of Azusa Pacific University where I graduated (B.M., 2016, M.M., 2018) with honors. Since then, I’ve worked at California School of the Arts as a teacher and accompanist to pay it forward.

Outside of music, I enjoy hiking, gaming, practicing Spanish, and creating free resources to share.
